This facility was probably good when new but is showing its age. The rooms are clean but dark and drab. It appears to be a favorite for transient construction workers. The location is good. The TV service is unreliable with cable channels fading in and out and sometimes, unavailable. The appliances are old but serviceable.

Honest review - this hotel is fine if you just need to get by for one or two nights. Other than that, look somewhere else and spend a little more. Whoever manages this hotel isn’t invested in hospitality for the long term. Not a good place for individuals looking for safety or families with kids.

Checked in here for a work trip and knew it wasn’t going to be anything over the top, which is perfectly fine, but Im leaving two stars or less because the rooms themselves had many aspects falling apart or stained that didn’t seem representative of a safe, clean, and comfortable hotel. Sheets and pullout couches all had mysterious stains and wear on them, some looking like blood. Bathroom vents hadn't been cleaned in a long time and it appeared mold or mildew was along the base of the cracking shower and toilet caulk. Walls had little sound proofing. We found drug paraphernalia underneath the couch when trying to move it. The one thing that was good was the bed was comfortable and a gas station across the street.

I stayed at Sonesta Simply Suites for nearly six weeks while caregiving for a family member. On a positive note, the hotel is located across the street from the Honor Health Scottsdale/Shea and two blocks from the Ironwood cancer center. There are several restaurants, grocery stores and other services in the immediate vicinity. Also on a positive note was the large desk area in the room which made remote work relatively comfortable. The Sales Manager was helpful at maintaining a set rate for my entire stay despite seasonal rate fluctuations. That's about where the good service and amenities end.

Many aspects of the room were subpar, needing maintenance and updating. I had to purchase more kitchen equipment to make simple meals. I can echo the myriad observations from other Google reviewers about the wear and tear on this property. I saw old mattresses in the dumpster suggesting they might be doing some upgrading and believe the mattress I had was on the newer side. I didn't feel entirely safe as a solo female and could've complained multiple times about other guests but chose to keep my head down. And the odor of the air fresheners in the halls and cleaning products used in the room was nauseating to me. by the way, cleaning is only offered once per week of stay.

Of most significance was the treatment that I received from a member of management on check out day. I'd requested an extra hour for late check out at noon which I was told I would be charged $25. I agreed despite that seeming unfair given I'd paid for nearly six weeks of room fees. It seems that Housekeeping was not informed of the late check-out and banged on my door twice asking me to leave starting at 10am. Informing them that I had late check out was ignored. I was in a work session and unable to answer the door the third time when the manager pounded on the door insisting that I vacate the property. I was very upset and used an explicative (as would most people under this stress). When I checked out I asked to speak with this person and he absolutely railed into me for the explicative, refused to listen, shouted over me and told me to get off of the property accusing me of treating his staff poorly. I asked his name since he did not have a name tag and on told me that was none of my business. Guess what - it is. I was very upset and shaken by this particularly having just lost the family member days before. I wouldn't stay in this place again if my life counted on it.

When I first got here I asked for a different room because the oven appeared broken and the room was dirty. I was told they would all be like that, assuming she meant the oven, not all dirty rooms. Outside there were contractors at almost every entrance, not working or appearing to be working on the property at all but staying at the property. They were loud, and drinking alcohol which made me nervous walking past them as I had to make several trips to get all of my things. Pets were all over the building and you can tell the next room I was given was heavily used by pets. If there is a pet policy to allow pets, there should be designated rooms used for pets only, same as smoking and non smoking, pets and non pets should be the policy. The chairs were all ripped and scratched up badly. As I was exhausted and already had my card being tied up by another hotel that did not have clean rooms I was stuck staying here. They did have washers and dryers but only 2 of each in a building of about 40 rooms per building. When I was able to use a washer and dryer I spent the entire night washing the linens. I disinfected everything. I hate that I had to stay here and would never do so again. Hotels have been horrible after Covid as with many services. Making many traveling experiences bad, but the rooms are still expensive.

Staff amazing and friendly. Fridge was freezing up, told front desk and maintenance had a replacement in my room before I had mine emptied. Front desk gentleman locked my rate while I was doing a jobsite for 2 months. Always have issues at other long stay properties as seasonal demands change prices making it difficult to plan overhead cost before starting jobs.

The front desk is very rude. I simply inquired about the cancellation of the room in advance due to an emergency. I was spoken to very rude and nasty like. I can see that the reservation has not been cancelled either. So now it will look like I neglected to call and cancel. I think I will cancel my membership for these reasons that are starting to happen more frequently. Is there not a such thing as customer service anymore in the hospitality business or is this a Sonesta standard?
Either way, I am withdrawing my membership as this is my last straw.

We needed to stay close to Piper Medical for one night. It is a convenient place to stay just a few minutes from the hospital. Staff was courteous and nice to deal with. The couch was stained, I used a bath towel to sit on it. Bedding was clean and bed was comfy. I am posting because the parking situation was not the best. We had to put an orange card on the dash. I didn’t see many vehicles there with that orange card but the parking lot was occupied in a lot of spots. Late that night, a car without plates showed up parked next to ours, worried they would hit our car on the way out we moved ours from the space we had. That car was leaking all over your parking lot. We saw the owner of it when we were leaving with maybe a gas can. Miraculously he didn’t ding our car. Probably won’t be back too many sketchy people there wandering around the parking lot and pool. Pic below front end was inches from our car until we parked elsewhere.

Positive: The Courteous front desk clerks I encountered, because the issues I had were not their fault. Negative: Unprofessionalism of management, both assistant and general When I reported the issues. The room was unclean, thick dust on vents, trash on bathroom floor, broken oven door, tv not working, tattered and dirty furniture
