I’m not one to usually leave reviews but I don't appreciate being spoken to in a disrespectful manner. I realized the price sticker on my bottle of shampoo was different from the sales price that rang up and was discussing this with the cashier when I guess the person who is security staff injected himself into the conversation. He was trying to make it seem like it was far-fetched for me to believe the item was one price instead of the other because according to them stickers fall off certain items and land on the shelf or other items all the time. He laughed, said “oh come on!” , and was set on making me seem silly. I'm not too bothered that they didn't want to acknowledge the sticker/price issue, although if you care about good customer service, they would have been understanding, especially since it was only a $4 difference, but you should at least employ staff that knows how to speak to paying customers. But, as a Black person, I am not all that surprised by the way I was treated at this Asian-owned shop with non-Black staff. Those who get what I'm saying get it and those who don't, go read a book.

Recently, I purchased a Andis Trimmer v1 motor clip from this store and mind you I've been going here for over 5yrs; and the blade was broken.

I never saw this happen before but I said I can't use this. So that very same day when I bought the motor clip shaver, I used my customer rights for a simple exchange.

One of the employees was a young person and she alerted the store owner, a older man with what appear to be an attitude.

He looked at the clip and blamed me that I dropped it on the floor. Now how can you prove that? I told him that it wasn't the case and I spent well over $1K over the 5yrs w/ him and he got aggy and said I can't resell this.

I said what can I do? I didn't know it was broken. And I also explained how you can't say on receipt "exchange within 7 days" but never honored it as policy you written.

Needless to say, he got really mad when I started to further confront him about his false advertisement of return policy so he was Wild enough to say he can give me a new clip to replace it. I said okay, but then he said just pay $10 more dollars.

Now common sense would say, you sold me a broken clip and now you want me to spend more $$$ on a clip that should be given for free. He then said, I'll go to the basement and see if there's a new clip. Mind you my car was double parked and was given a citation cause he argued w me for 15 long minutes.

He came back and said well I gave you a new clipper but once I used it, it wasn't working properly. I suspect he lied and gave me some old returned clip.

I decided not to go back bc he was disrespectful and lacked customer service. It's sad because you pay hard earned $$ and folks are mad over a $60 clip that he could have returned to manufacturer as part of insurance or a tax write-off.

He was terrible. Make sure you open the entire box and take the clip out of the plastic bag in front of them because their selling broken clips to people based on my personal experience.

Be cautious...

Los Dominicanos son Pros at stealing 19.98 (HBA 999), Yara (6.99), and a wide open Ponds Cream (14.99) of my Christmas money on Christmas Day! Great place to shop for natural hair products and lotion (Secuuuri, aka The Owner is very dry and crusty for someone who works at the beauty supply) btw skin whitening products that are unmarked/unclear are inconvenient

Came here last night at 7:50pm and the employees had the door locked looking at me like I was crazy. Called to speak with the owner this morning considering their business hours show that they close at 8pm. He wasn’t there so I spoke with the manager Henry to express my concerns. He was rude and proceeded to tell me he “wasn’t going to argue” with me. There was no argument. Just a frustrated customer who rushed there from work and was turned away and mistreated. I was hoping for a resolution but after speaking with management, I’ll just go ahead and report this to the Better Business Bureau

This place is well organized and has most of the popular brands. The only thing I didn't like is that they have a minimum charge of $10 dollars on purchases made with a credit or debit card and to make matters worse, there isn't a ATM in the store. I went to buy a gel and ended up buying two more items that I really didn't need just to make the minimum charge other than that the store is pretty good.

Good prices, shelves are always stocked. Great selection of new and standard products. The inventory is a little pricey but cv comparable. The staff is always ready to help and go out of their way to find items for you, they even offer alternatives. The cosmetic section is very up to date and they have a nice costume jewelry selection as well.

I have been a patron to this particular beauty supply store for a number of years, which is why I am very disappointed with the way this situation was handled. Yesterday, I bought an adaptable comb for my blow dryer that did not accommodate the shape and size of the blow dryer I have. Before I made the purchase, I had three different combs, asked an employee which she would recommend. I purchased the one she advised would work best for my blowdryer, and came home only to be frustrated to find it did not. Upon reviewing the receipt and like most businesses, it reads "NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES WITH RECIEPTS EXCEEDING PURCHASES BEYOND 7 DAYS". I went today to make an exchange, WITH MY BLOW DRYER for the same employee to tell me they did not have this particular adapter and I could not get my money back. "I told you yesterday, that if it didn't fit you'd get store credit. They don't give refunds." I was surprised by her comment because I never once asked her anything about returns, refunds, or exchanges upon my purchase. Perhaps because I was being too trusting since I've been a patron for so long, and because I CAN READ. The receipt says absolutely nothing about not giving out refunds. I took the store credit, and have no intention on returning. The store may have a wide range of products from Natural Hair Care, and other products (some of which you can only get online), but it's not worth it if this is how they handle business.
